You say tomato, I say Bloody Mary.
It was recently brought to my attention of the oddness of the beer chaser typically served with Bloody Marys. Curiousity made me research but left me disappointed in lack of answers. Upon my extensive research on the ol’ Google Machine, this practice seems local to the area (Wisconsin and Minnesota). It makes me curious as to if this was started by a bartender to ease the flow of patrons ordering two drinks, so they automatically served Bloody Mary’s with a beer? Was it to counteract with the saltiness in the Bloody mixes?
So loyal friends and followers, who has an answer for me? I’d love to hear your ideas and/or conclusions!
