You say tomato, I say Bloody Mary.
** Prodigal has permanently closed **
Recently, we took our friend, Amy, to Prodigal, at 240 E. Pittsburgh Avenue (the old MOCT), for brunch. Prodigal is relatively new to Milwaukee but has turned into one of our more-liked places. We’ve been there a few times but don’t ask us to tell you exactly how the late nights went – if you don’t what I mean. And I think you do. When Amy was in town, we decided to try their menu out for a change.
Here’s what we thought:
Mix: Just like their other crafter drinks, the Bloody Mary did not disappoint. The mix was a perfect consistency, spicy but not too spicy, and flavored really well. I was impressed and would recommend it to Bloody lovers.
Garnish: A chunk of bacon, spicy green bean, pearl onion, a cheese curd (not fried, fyi) and, of course, a lemon and lime wedge. Simple but very good.
Chaser: Yes, this came with a bloody mary but I can’t remember what it was.
Buzz: I did catch a little buzz here! It was a lot to saw after eating an entire plate of steak and waffles. I mean, entire plate. I might as well licked it clean.
End note: Prodigal is a place you should certainly check out. I’m excited to go in the summertime when we can hang out with the garage doors open. Whether the bartenders like it or not, I’ll be back.
