You say tomato, I say Bloody Mary.
Well, it’s been a few months. Our last Bloody Mary post was in March and that’s just not okay. So to kick things off right, we headed to Merriment Social at 240 E Pittsburgh Ave. After a few different concepts in the spot, it seems like Merriment Social is here for a while. We’ve been there a few times but this was our first brunch stop. The garage doors were open, the sun was out and we were loving it.
They had one Bloody Mary on their menu called the Bloody Merri so I opted in.
Mix: We sat near the bar so I could see the mix was being poured out of a bar container. The bartender was slinging Bloody Marys left and right so I imagine they mix the Bloody’s the night before or early mornings. The mix was on the thinner side but packed good flavor. There was a hint of smokey… I usually don’t like smokey but this was so faint, I actually really liked it. I’m not sure if the smokey flavor was a special additive or coming from the Worcestershire. Either way, I liked it a lot.
Chaser: This came with a small chaser of Spotted Cow (included).
Garnish: Two thinly sliced pickles, two pieces of salami and one extra-large spicy cheese curd. Seriously, this was a super spicy curd.
Size: Standard 20 ounce pub glass.
We’ll certainly be back to Merriment Social. The brunch was great and TJ swears by the burgers. If you haven’t been to this location, we recommend it!
