For the past two weeks, I’ve been lucky in the bloody department. Sharing a top spot with Camino, Hawthorne Bloody Mary earned themselves a Top Contender spot! Their Bloody Mary is also Kendra (the owners) favorite house cocktail as well!
Mix: Steve and Kendra’s house mix at Hawthorne is really, really great! It a great, classic mix and you cannot go wrong. The offer the Bloody Mary as “mild or spicy with a beer chaser” The mix was thick, spicy and with each sip, I got chunks of spice and big flavor. As soon as I tasted it, I knew this would be moving it into the top contender spot.
Garnish: This Bloody Mary doesn’t need a loud garnish. The drink speaks for itself and has nothing to hide. However, it is served with a really great slice of beef jerky, olive and small cheese curd.
Chaser: A small shorty of beer is included as a chaser. I’m not totally sure what was served.
Buzz: Very yes.
Size: Standard 16 ounces.
Cost: $6. Stop rubbing your eyes. Yes – it’s $6.
Nap Factor: No nap needed! Perfect combination… how did they do it?
